-James has turned into a CHAMPION sleeper!! For the last little while he has been sleeping for 12 hours a night!! He just wakes up once to eat. After sleeping for 12 hours he will wake up for about 1 hour and then usually go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!! It has been glorious!!
-This face.
Thanks Kim for the onesie!! He loves it!
Proudly sporting his Angels shirt from Aunt Cindy!
You can't be a Strebel and not love firetrucks!Downs:
-Eating! For the first 2 months of life James was a great eater, loved to eat, and ate every 2-3 hours. About a month ago just one day he suddenly REFUSED to eat! Every time I would try to feed him he would throw back his head and scream bloody murder. I learned it was a nursing strike. It was super frustrating and sad for both of us. In the process of this nursing strike I got mastitis (HORRIBLE!!) and I had to give James pumped bottles. After about a week of bottles and lots of battles we are back on solely nursing. However, now he has turned into such an erratic eater. Sometimes he will only eat on one side. Sometimes he will go like 7 hours without eating. Sometimes it really makes me crazy!! I think I am supposed to learn patience and really believe that James will not starve himself and eat when he is hungry!!

That's great that he's sleeping so well! I've heard mastitis is awful - I'm so sorry. He sure is cute though, and looks a lot like you.
He is so cute, I love the pictures. Eating is so frustrating...I'm so sorry you got mastitis! That sounds terrible. Hopefully James will start realizing the eating is GOOD and he won't be difficult.
My Colton was a terrible eater (or nurser I should say) after 5 weeks of hell, I started pumping. Here I am with an 8 month old and still pumping, haha. I'm hoping my next one is a champion eater to make up for it.
Oh what a doll!! YEAH for sleeping!!! That's great. And hang in there with the feeding. I really think if he's hungary, he'll eat. No good stressing out!
Does he have thrush?
in that first pic it looks like he is eating just fine!!!!!!!!!
He is SOO SOO cute! I love seeing new pictures. I don't know what mastitis is but it sounds terrible. Call me and tell me about it sometime.
Oh man, it is so true...having babies is totally full of ups and downs. Good thing the ups outweight the downs...at least most of the time :) I really hope he's eating better for you!
Britt,
That is pretty much exactly what happened to me! Mastitis sucks! The good news is that it didn't depleat your milk supply and that you didn't get it twice in a row (aren't I lucky?) I guess the bad news is that James is putting up quite the fight to feed. If you need an empathetic ear about how frustrating feeding can be let me know! Don't worry, you're not alone in having stressful feeding periods and you'll get through it!
